Donna J. Longer, 85 of Morton, IL, formerly of Danville, IL, went home to be with her Lord Friday morning, September 27, 2013 at AC Restmor in Morton. Donna was born June 16, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Harry M. and Eva M Chezem. She married Don Longer on August 19, 1950 in Danville, IL. Donna is survived by her husband, Don, of Morton, IL., her daughters, Vickie (Michael Boatman) Longer of East Peoria, IL and Candy (Randy) Kaluza of Morton, IL. Grandson, Michael (Trisha) Kaluza of Morton, and two precious great-grandchildren Haley and Layton. Also surviving is her sister Alice J. Hall and brother Jim (Connie) Chezem and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dean Chezem. Donna was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She was a talented artist and seamstress. After her children were grown, Donna spent time traveling with Christian Womens Club as a motivational speaker. She was very involved all her life at Ridgeview Baptist Church. She brought joy and a smile to everyone. Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday October 1, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Ridgeview Baptist Church, Don and Donna Longer Scholarship Fund at Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville and Don and Donna Longer Scholarship Fund at Danville Area Community College.
