Donna Crowder

Donna Crowder, 84, of Georgetown, Illinois went home to be with Jesus Saturday June 21, 2025, at her home with family by her side, after a short illness. Donna was born to Leonard and Mildred Dean (Taylor) Hickman, on June 16, 1941, in Danville, Illinois. Donna married Larry Crowder August of 1979, her preceded her in death.

Donna is survived by her brother Richard (Susan) Hickman of Vero Beach, Florida, and eight children; Cathi Saunders of Indianapolis, Connie Cannon of Georgetown, Jill (Edgar) Paz of Westville, Chuck (Tammy) Crowder of Indianapolis, Chris Crowder of Indianapolis, April (John Bova) Ireland of Danville, Michael (Holly) Crowder of Indianapolis , Devan Hall of Indianapolis , and one daughter in law Bonnie Crowder of Indianapolis. Donna had eleven grandchildren: Emily (Colton) Murray, Kareith (Kaitlyn Wright) Crowder, Jesse (Danielle) Doggett, Kiriath (William) Sorrels, Jacob (Chelsea) Doggett, Peyton Clay, Jonathan Ireland, Maliyah Crowder, Pamela (Travis Tardy) Albrecht, Alex (Kylee Man) Bradley, Cambrin Bradley, plus eleven great grandchildren: Elena, Avery, Bentley, Lawrence, Vyla, Emerson, Mayra, Jearim, Laodecia, Levi, and Emmett.

Donna worked as a cook and bar manager at several establishments in Danville. Most recently is Dale's Place before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her late husband in their RV especially at Vermilion County Fair Grounds. She also was an avid Cubs and Illini fan. She loved playing euchre, attending and watching all types of racing from Indy Car to NASCAR. Donna most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved all of the family gatherings where her children and grandchildren would get together.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, an infant daughter Kristina, son Larry Eugene, and son-in-law Bryan Cannon.

Donna grew up and spent most of her life in Danville. She was a graduate of Danville High School. She grew up attending and worshiping at First Church of God now Community Church of God in Danville.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 4pm on Saturday June 28, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Houghton-Leasure Chapel 200 E West St Georgetown, Illinois, 61846. Family will accept guests 2-4pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Cremation and burial will be at a later date.
