Donna Abernathey

Danville- Donna Abernathey, 75, of Danville died at 12:10 AM on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Vermillion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on May 21, 1936 in Danville to Roland and Esther Combs Towell. She is survived by two sons, Troy Abernathey of Hoopeston and Shawn Abernathey of Chicago; and five grandchildren, Samantha and Pheobe Abernathey, Shawn Abernathey II and Michael Abernathey, and Anthony Paolinelli. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother David. Prior to moving to Chicago, Donna worked for R&S in Danville. After leaving she worked for Cotter & Co. in Chicago until her retirement. She then moved back to Danville, but always remained an avid Chicago White Sox fan. She also enjoyed going to the library, being with her dogs, photography, being involved with her community, and was a member of a ladies singing group. Per Donna's wishes there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are being handled through Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
