Donald Worsfold

Donald Worsfold, 82, of Covington, IN, passed away at 9:18am, Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on December 24, 1932, in Peoria, IL, the son of John W. and Florence E. {Davis} Worsfold. On March 19, 1953, while serving 4 years in the Navy, he was united in marriage to Vivian Day in Des Moines, IA. She will miss him dearly. Left to cherish his memory are: his daughters, Laurie Cozens of Peoria, IL, & Kimberly (Dave) Winchell of East Peoria, IL; his grandchildren, Kristopher (Jackie) Cozens of Newark, DE, Joshua Harrold of East Peoria, & Katherine Harrold of Morton; his great grandchild, Sydney R. Cozens of Newark, DE; and his sister, Pamela Sue (Jerry) Longman of Bradford. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers, John Lester Worsfold & Larry K. Worsfold; and his granddaughter, Kindra M. Bruzik & great grandchild, Logan Bruzik. Don retired from Preston Trucking Company of East Peoria. He was a member of Navy Marine Club of Peoria Heights, American Legion-Dunlap Post, and a life-time member of the VFW of East Peoria where he also served as Commander. He was also a member of the USS Gearing Association and a member of the Covington United Methodist Church. Don was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed going golfing. Don was known for his laugh and his love of the mountains of Montana. He loved his family more than life and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Don's life will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, December 14, 2015, at Northminster Presbyterian, 10720 N Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL 61615. Visitation will be 11am-1pm prior to his service at the Church. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Hawley Cemetery, Peoria, IL.
