Donald William 'Bill' Liggett

Donald "Bill" William Liggett, 92, of Danville, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. He was born in Danville on July 26, 1929, the son of Andrew and Helen Liggett. Bill married Jacquelyn D. Altman and they would spend many wonderful years together before her passing in 1996.

Bill is survived by his children, Holly (William) Norton, Danny (Trina) Liggett; grandchildren, Neil (Shelly) Norton, Vanessa (Nathan) Proulx, Joel Liggett, Kaitlan (Andrew) OConnor; great-grandchildren, Tyler Norton, Isabella Norton, Timothy Proulx, Marielle Proulx and Maximilian Proulx.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Steven Liggett, grandson Shane Norton, and sisters, Lorraine Hoyt and Helen Mae Grafton.

Bill was a loving and proud family man who adored spending time with his family. He was an avid Bears and Cubs fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycles. He also collected guns and could always be found working on one of his many projects. Bill loved the local wildlife and spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Private family services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with burial at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vermilion County Conservation District Wildlife Program.
