Donald Wayne Tibbs

Donald Wayne Tibbs, 87, of Ridge Farm, IL, was born on January 7, 1935, in Young America Township. He was the son of Dee and Myrtle Waldrip Tibbs. Don finished his journey on earth at 11:00am, Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman, IL. He had two brothers and four sisters. Don married Mary Jane Frontino on May 31, 1979, in Ridge Farm, IL. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2020. He was also preceded by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Don is survived by a son, Richard Tibbs, and a daughter, Marcy Tibbs, both of Paris, IL. There are three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends who have fond memories of the times they had with Don. Also two special friends, Mary June McCool and her son, Brad Hanley, who have been guardians and caregivers for Don and Mary Jane for several years. Don retired out of Quaker Oats (Pepsico). In his younger years, he played in various bands in the area. He even still had some of his guitars and sound equipment. Don enlisted in the US Army but it was for a very short time as they found him to be color blind and he was honorably discharged. Don attended Ridge Farm United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care he received while at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, as well as their concern for the family. Private Graveside services will be held for family. Arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Hollingsworth officiating. He will be laid to rest next to Mary Jane at Oak Hill Cemetery, Danville, IL. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Pleasant Meadow Senior Living Activity Fund, 400 W Washington St, Chrisman, IL 61924.
