Danville, Ill. - Donald Tyrone Homan, 72, of Danville and formerly of Gessie, Indiana, passed away at 9:25 p.m. CDT Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois. He was born March 31, 1941 in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of the late Marlon Franklin and Pauline Louisisa Conrad Homan. Survivors include three daughters, Paula(Chuck)Applemen of Catlin, Illinois; Debbie Homan of Georgetown, Illinois and Sharlotte(Rick)Wagle of Indianola, Illinois; one son, Donnie(Cindy)Homan of Westville, Illinois; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; five sisters, Sonja Adams of Cayuga, Indiana; Linda(Mike)Bennett of Eugene, Indiana; Connie(Larry)McConnell of Dana, Indiana; Julie(Craig)Ellis of Ajo, Arizona and Diane Peterson of Eugene, Indiana; one brother, Jerry(Sharon)Homan of Clinton, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. Donald retired from the maintenance department at the former Lakeview Medical Center. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Marine Corps. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Cayuga, Indiana. Donald enjoyed playing his guitar, knife making, hunting, fishing and woodcarving. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, September 21, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Sonja Adams; Visitation: Noon EDT Saturday, September 21, 2013 until time of services at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana.
