Donald L. Sutter 86, peacefully passed away on January 24, 2017 at Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living in Fishers, Indiana. Don was born on July 4, 1930 in Peoria, IL to Lee and Gladys Sutter. He married Eileen Krull in 1957 in Minonk, Illinois and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage! Don is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Sutter and children Mary Beth Tripp (Scott) of Fishers, Indiana, Phil Sutter (Cathy) of Westfield, Indiana and Trisha Sutter Pasco (Kenny), Danville, Illinois, six grandchildren, David Sutter (Caroline), Chicago, Brian Sutter, Indianapolis, Carolyn Tripp, Bloomington, Indiana, Jonathan Tripp, Fishers, Indiana, Sarah Mornout, Bismark, Illinois and Staff Sargent Greyson Pasco, Great Falls, Montana and two great grandchildren, Owen Mornout and Kohltyn Pasco. He is also survived by his siblings Ken Sutter and Joan Trotter (Bob) of Peoria Illinois. Don was an honor roll student athlete at Woodruff High School earning 8 varsity letters in baseball, basketball and football. He then attended Bradley University graduating with a BS degree in Accounting in 1952, Don was a member of the ROTC, played freshman basketball and was a catcher for the baseball team. As a sophomore, the baseball team advanced to the College World Series and the team was inducted into the Bradley University Hall of Fame in 2007. Upon graduating, he joined the United States Air Force and was assigned to the National Security Agency in Washington, DC. At the end of the Korean War he was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant. Don joined Hyster Company in Peoria and then he and his family were transferred to Detroit, Michigan, Irvine, Scotland and Danville, Illinois retiring in 1992 from Hyster-NACCO after 38 years of continuous service. His retirement years were filled with playing golf, notably with four hole in one's during his adult years and was a member of the Over the Hill Gang at the Elks Club. He also volunteered his time doing tax preparations for local Danville residents. Visitation will be on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville, Illinois. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Don will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made in Don's name to the Elks Club BPOE 332 or St Paul's Catholic Church in Danville, Illinois.
