Donald Rolla

Donald Rolla, 76 of Savoy, IL. passed away on Friday March 3rd, 2023 in Savoy. He was born on July 4th, 1946 in Chicago, IL the son of Paul and Mary (Besetzny) Rolla. They precede him in death.

Don graduated from DePaul University with a Master's degree in education and from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's degree in history. In 1996 Don and Terry moved from Chicago to Mahomet and started a farm animal rescue which they maintained until Don had a stroke in 2014. He remained involved in the care and rescue of animals until his passing. Don loved traveling with his family and traveled around the world with his parents before meeting his wife, Terry. He was a fan of all U of I sports, he enjoyed watching Star Trek and attending Comic Con. He will be remembered for his kindness and the love he had for all things furred and feathered.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; cousins, Bernadette Mazzuca of Schaumburg, IL., and Tom Manno of California.

A visitation will be held on Friday March 10th 2023 from 2-5pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, IL. 61820.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Dons name to the animal organization of the donors choice. No flowers please.
