Donald 'Rabbit' Siddens

DONALD "RABBIT" R. SIDDENS Donald "Rabbit" R. Siddens, 81, of Tilton, passed away at 9:22 a.m. Saturday, May 26th, 2012 at his home. Donald was born on September 4th, 1930, in Danville, the son of Ray Dale and Marion (Myers) Siddens. He married Laura L. Turner on December 26th, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 23rd, 2011. He is survived by a brother- Robert D. Siddons of Tilton; daughter- Christy (Charles Phalen) O'Brien of Danville; daughters-in-law- Londa Carder and Debbie Siddens; five grandchildren- Brad Carder, Beau (Angela) Siddens, Peter (Jennifer) O'Brien, Kyle O'Brien and Lindsay O'Brien; and nine great-grandchildren- Karenann, Christian, Parker, Gaige, Shelby, Dylan, Amara, Wrigley and Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons- Billie Dean Carder and Scott Alan Siddens and a sister- Shirley Willoughby. Donald attended Danville High School. He served in the United States Navy. Donald worked at General Motors, Tilton Police Department and Rockford Life Insurance, until he retired in the early 90's. He was a past member of the Tilton Lions Club and the Presidents Club. Donald enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling with his group of friends in Tilton and was an avid Cubs fan. A Celebration of the life of Donald "Rabbit" R. Siddens will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31st, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Carle Hospice or American Heart Association.
