Donald R. Keller, age 75, passed away at 8:15 a.m. June 23 ,2007 at his home in Danville. Born June 11, 1932 in Covington, in. to Jess and Ida Winters Keller. Don married Theresa Sally Hathaway on March 3,1973 in Danville she survives. He has two stepsons, Frank (Sandy) Hathaway and Harris Jr. (Diane) Hathaway both of Louisiana. One step daughter Debbie (Phil) Kelly of Danville. All who dearly loved him. Grandchildren, who adored him, Kenny Hooks, Kurt Hooks, Shane Kelly, Troy Hathawy, Nikki Gray, Vince Ramirez, Celine Colling, Rachael, Raymond, Christy, Dugas and Amy Wyatt. His twelve great grandchildren who brought him great joy are Kourtney, Alexis, Skylar, Ginger, Kelly, Carrie, Jeffery, Fay, Tierra, Aaron, Gage and Peter. Don has three brothers surviving Charles R. (Ann) Keller of Upper Darby, Pa., Max E. (Margaret) and John W. both of Covington. One sister Janet (Manuel) Gonzalez of Danville. Three sister in laws Josephine Keller of Long Beach, Ca., Dorothy Keller of Covington, and Virginia (Jack) Pridemore of Grape Creeek, one brother in law Ray (Edith) Miethe of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Billy, Francis, Jesse, Layton, Leroy and one sister Ruthann Carwile. Don attended Covington schools and was one of seven brothers that served in the military. He was employed with the Allith Prouty Co. in Danville until closing. He worked at Steel Grip Safety Co. ten years prior to his retirement. Member of the VFW Post 2395 at Covington. He was a gentle, quiet, and faithful husband to his wife, loved his family and friends. He enjoyed visiting family, working at home and fishing with his grandkids. A celebration of Dons life will be held at 3:00p.m., Tuesday June 26,2007 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center ( formerly Lakeside-Barrick) 3550 N. Vermilion.Officiating Rev. James Blue. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Military rites to follow the service. Burial will be private at a later date at Parrish Cemetery.
