Donald McCrone, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:29am, on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 24, 1938, in Danville, the son of Don R. and Lilas M. {Winkler} McCrone. He was united in marriage to Linda Christine Talbott on April 20, 1961, until her passing on December 18, 2016. Donald is survived by his children, Michael (Annette) McCrone, Ryan McCrone, Kevin (Fengqin) McCrone, Chris (Donald) Delaney, and Jason McCrone; his grandchildren, Rachel Delaney, Kyle Delaney, Tyler McCrone, Alex McCrone, Nancy McCrone, Amanda McCrone, and Megan McCrone; and his great grandchildren, Lilly Troxel and Conner Delaney. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Elisa McCrone; and brother, Jim McCrone. Don was a Veteran of the US Army. He worked for many years at TeePak until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding bikes, hiking, and spending time with his family and his good friend, Sherry Littlejohn. He attended the United Methodist Church in Georgetown. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, June 23, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola, IL. His family entrusted his arrangements to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846.
