Donald Martin Schultz

Bismarck - Donald Schultz of Bismarck passed away on September 14, 2016 at Carle Hospital in Urbana. Donald was born on October 1, 1934 in Bismarck, IL, the son of Martin and Vera Schultz. On July 7, 1958 he married Betty Ross and had three children; David (Tamara) Schultz; Diane (Tim) Andrews and Julie Siddens. Don also had three brothers, Harold (Barbara) Schultz; Dale Schultz; and Larry Lester Schultz; as well as three sisters, Joyce (Glen) Cronkhite; Carol Barnes; and Rita Wright. He is survived by his grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Siddens; Amber Siddens; Brandon Schultz; Lanie Andrews; Lindsey Andrews; great-grandchildren, Tinley Siddens and Anna Siddens. Don was a lifelong resident of Bismarck and grew up on his parent's dairy farm. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Vermilion County Fair Board and enjoyed participating in 4-H with his children and grandchildren. He retired in 2001 from Hyster/NACCO and was an active member of the Bismarck First Church of Christ. Most of all he loved attending his grandchildrens' sporting events, visiting with family and friends and his daily coffee meetings at Bills and Steak-N-Shake. Don is preceded in death by his wife, Betty, daughter, Julie, infant brother, Larry Lester; two sisters, Carol and Rita. Memorial donations in Don's name may be given to the Bismarck First Church of Christ. Visitation will be Sunday, September 18, 2016, 3-5 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. Funeral service will be Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10 AM.
