Donald Lee Hinkle

Donald "Don" Lee Hinkle, 88, of Catlin, passed away on Thursday, September 15th, 2022.

Don was born on July 17th, 1934, in Marshall, IL, a son to Herman and Clara (Hutchings) Hinkle. He graduated from Newton High School in 1952. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Freda Doggett. They were married on February 5th, 1955, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage in Catlin, where they raised their two children, Barb and Donnie. Their familys faith and trust in God helped them overcome Barbs tragic death as a teenager and Fredas passing in 2004.

Don cherished every minute he could spend with Freda and their friends and family. He was employed by Hyster for many years until he retired in 1997. Don will be remembered as a devoted father, grandpa, and an overall caring and respected man anyone could depend on to lend a helping hand. He is reunited in death with his wife and daughter, Freda and Barb.

His son, Donald Hinkle Sr., survives. Other survivors include his brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Hinkle; grandchildren, Donnie Hinkle Jr., Jason Hinkle, Bobby Hinkle, Cindy (Chris) Hicks, and Lindsay Keller; great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Kobe, Dylan, Kyson, Broox, Lucie, Emma, Abby, Olivia, and Maverick; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Don is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Leila Gibson, Ruth Newlin, Lorine King, and Rosie Huddleston; and brothers, Dean, George, Rex, and Nolan Hinkle.
