Donald L. Tucker, 77, of Danville passed away on Saturday January 23, 2010 at the VA Illiana Health Care System. He was born on January 9, 1933 in Georgetown, IL the son of L and Thelma (Ballard) Tucker. He married Carolyn S. Tucker on June 30, 1956 in Danville, IL. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2009. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Dave Gondry and his cousins, Mike Gerrib, Bruce Gerrib, Delores Czapski, Rodney Mikel, and Kenneth Jay Mikel. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donald retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He then went to work for the Danville Postal Service retiring after many years of service. After the post office, he went to work as Security for K.I.K. Custom Products, before retiring from there. Donald was a member of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church. He was a member of the Westville Sportsmens Club, the NRA, and the Vermilion County R.C. Club. He truly missed his loving wife Carolyn with whom he had a wonderful and fulfilling life. Don and Carolyn both cared very much for animals and their pets, and donated to many different organizations for the humane treatment of animals and pets. Don was always willing to help and was a friend to everyone. He will be truly missed by his friends and relatives A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday January 27, 2010 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
