Donald L Smith

Danville Donald L. Smith, 89, of Danville passed away at 7:37 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Donald was born on May 8, 1931 in Danville to Dale and Mildred (Darding) Smith.

He is survived by two nephews, Jason and Jared Smith, both of Danville; and a cousin, Darrell (Kathy) Darding of Danville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phillip Wayne Smith.

Before it became automated, Donald worked as a pinsetter at Bulans Bowling Alley and was involved with League Bowling for many years. He went on to work as a groundskeeper with Spring Hill Cemetery and later worked at WorkSource in Danville. Donald loved Walker Texas Ranger, NASCAR, and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1001.

A private family graveside service for Donald Smith will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville at 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois, 61834 is in charge of arrangements.
