Donald Eugene Hinkle

Donald Eugene Hinkle, 70, passed away after complications from double bypass surgery at Eskenazi Hospital.

Born on November 15, 1955, and raised in Catlin, Illinois, Donald dedicated many years of hard work to General Motors. He began his career at the foundry in Tilton, Illinois, and later transferred to Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. He retired in 2019 after years of faithful service.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Freda Hinkle, and his sister, Barb Hinkle.

He is survived by his sons, Donnie Hinkle, Jason Hinkle, and Robert Hinkle; his daughter, Cynthia Hinkle; and 10 beloved grandchildren.

Donald will be remembered for kind heart and quiet faith. While his family grieves this earthly loss, they find comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord and reunited with his loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Matt Harmless will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the funeral home in Danville, IL.
