Donald Gene Hill Donald Gene Hill, 62, of Danville, passed away at 2:29 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Provena Logan Campus. Don was born on December 8, 1945, the son of Eugene and Marie D. (Sumann) Hill and was a 1963 graduate of Schlarman High School. Survivors of Don include one son Steven Hill of Norway IL, daughter Shelly Hill also of Norway, IL, three brothers James (Kaye) Hill of Plano, IL, Fred (Peggy) Hill of Danville, and Ken Hill also of Danville, and one sister Dorothy DeRe of Rantoul, IL. Don was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Henry, and one granddaughter Sarah. After graduating High School, Don chose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force and was in active duty from 1964-1967. He later became a member of the American Legion Post 395 in Plano, IL. Don also loved fly fishing, model trains, and flying in airplanes with his best friend, Butch Schroeder. A celebration of life for Donald Gene Hill will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2 pm at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (Formerly Lakeside-Barrick) located at 3550 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 12-2 pm. There will be no committal services following. Pastor Miles Clark will be officiating.
