Donald G. Munro

Donald G. Munro, 80, of Danville, IL passed away on November 13, 2019 at the VA Iliana Healthcare System.

He was born on September 24, 1939 in St. Vincent, MN. Don married Judy Ann Hewitt on October 26, 1963 in Wisconsin. She survives.

Donald retired from the United States Marine Corps where he was Sgt. Major in the military after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Danville American Legion Post 210. He attended Grape Creek Baptist Church with Judy. Don loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and spent free time fishing, hunting, working jigsaw puzzles, yard work and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Donald Munro.

Donald is survived by his wife, Judy Munro, son, William Joseph (Ann) Munro of Princeton, IN; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dons life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Grape Creek Baptist Church in Danville with Pastor David Leary officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion Street. Danville, Illinois 61834.
