Donald 'Donny' Richards

Donald Eugene "Donny" Richards, Jr., 34 of Westville, passed away at 9:55 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016. He was born November 28, 1981 in Danville the son of Donald Eugene and Michele (Phillips) Richards, Sr. He was married to Miranda Lee and she preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Krista and Zeke Richards of Springfield; mother, Michele Richards of Westville; brother, Shaun (Kimberly) Richards of Westville; sisters, Michele Roberts of Champaign, Shawna Sollars, Allison Richards, and Cami Richards all of Westville; nieces and nephews, Matthew Roberts, Zane, Logan, and Christian Sollars, Raiden Blacksher, and Leya and Dylan Richards; as well as many more friends and family who loved him dearly. Donny was preceded in death by his wife, Miranda; father, Donald Eugene Richards, Sr.; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Donny attended Westville schools and had just got his most recent job at Autozone. He academically excelled in school and even skipped ahead classes because he was so smart. He was reading the newspaper to his mom at age five. Donny could have the answer in a matter of seconds to any question you asked without having to look it up, he stored so much knowledge and knew so much about so many things. He enjoyed wrestling and would never tell anyone "no." He was the nicest person to everyone, no matter their walk of life, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Even though he didn't have much, he would give the shirt off his back or whatever else he could offer, to help someone out. Most of all Donny loved hanging out with his nieces and nephews as well as the rest of his family. He was their beloved uncle and they, along with his family, will cherish the memories they made with him forever. A celebration of Donny's Life will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State Street, Westville. Robert Cornell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM Thursday prior to services at the funeral home. As per his wishes Donny will be cremated following services.
