Donald Dodd

TILTON- Donald P. Dodd, 86, of Tilton, passed away at 10:10pm on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. He was born in Sidell, IL, on July 29, 1921, the son of James C. and Ella E. Daugherty Dodd, both deceased. On January 25, 1946, Don married Alma Danner in Georgetown. She preceded him in death in 2006. Survivors include her two daughters, Donna Dodd of Tilton, Linda (David) Landers of LaMinrada, CA, her two grandchildren; Joshua (Sue Ellen) Landers, Elizabeth Landers, both of LaMinrada, CA, and his brother, Kenneth Max. His grandson Matthew, two sisters; Hazel, and Mary, and his brother James, preceded Don in death. Don was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII. After the military, he worked at Blacks and Company in Danville, as an industrial manager, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Tilton, the Sidell American Legion, and the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home Auxiliary.
