Donald Delanois

WESTVILLE - Donald C. Delanois, 81, of Westville, passed away at 10:15pm on Thursday, December 15th, 2005, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on August 18th, 1924, in Westville the son of Herman and Emma (Bednar) Delanois. He was united in marriage to Rita (Rakausky) Delanois on October 17th, 1953, at St. Marys Church in Westville. Those who will miss him include: his wife, Rita Delanois of Westville; his children, Ken Delanois of Westville, Barbara (Don Archer) Delanois of Newtown, Linda (Rick) Liggett of Westville, Karyn (Mike) Uhde of Davenport, IN, and Jain (John Kaspar) Delanois of Keller, TX; his sister, Delores Fif Dowiatt of Mansfield, OH; his grandchildren, John Delanois of Bloomington, IL, Justin Bryant of Westville, Lindsay (Joel) Jesteadth of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Nathan Liggett of Westville, Kaylee Liggett of Westville, & Jennifer (Richard Rodgers) Delanois of Danville; and his four great grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. Donald worked as a railroad switchman where he eventually retired and drove a truck for Mervis. He was a member of St. Marys Church of Westville. He enjoyed playing cards (euchre), fishing, gardening, cooking and playing the horses and he also liked to listen to big band music. Donald loved to spend time with his family and cherished his grandchildren.
