Donald Clark

Donald R. Clark Sr. of Danville, IL passed away December 12, 2006 at his residence. He was born October 16, 1923 in Decatur, Illinois son of William E. and Albertha L. Langheldt Clark. He married Shirley Atwater on June 19, 1943 in Memphis, TN. She preceded him in July of 1997. Survivors include: Sons: Donald R. (Barbara) Clark of Cedar City, UT, Christopher (Brenda) Clark of Danville, IL, and Daniel (Janet) Clark of Terre Haute, IN, Daughters: Donna (Mickey) Klaman of Decatur, IL, and Susan Clark of Orangeville, IL, Grandchildren: Tim (Maggie) Klaman of Decatur, Il, Sarah Klaman of Rantoul, IL, Joshua Wallin of Orangeville, IL, Valerie Wallin of Schaumburg, IL, Katie, Tommy, & Cathy Clark of Danville, IL, Betsy & Abby Clark of Terre Haute, IN, Great Grandchildren: Ireland & Eli Klaman of Decatur, IL, Ashton Jones of Freeport, IL, and Olivia & Ava Young of Danville, IL. Brothers: David (Lynn) Clark of FL and Fred Clark of Decatur, IL, Sisters: Annabelle Atwater of Decatur, IL. Special Friend: Ila Hinchman He was preceded in death by his parents, Daughter Judith Kay and Son Thomas Patrick, and three brothers and two sisters. Donald was a graduate of Argenta High School and served from 1942-1946 in the U.S. Navy Air Corp during WWII. He was a plant supervisor for Illinois Power Co. retiring after forty years. He was a member of the St. Pauls Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight with the K of C. He was a loving father, an ardent traveler, and enjoyed attending the activities of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Donalds life will be held at 10:00 am December 16, 2006 at St. Pauls Catholic Church with Rev. Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Friday Evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center; 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville.
