Donald A. Nibbelin Donald A. Nibbelin, 76, of Danville, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Provenas United Samaritans Medical Center of Danville. Don was on October 24, 1930, in Peoria, the son of Arthur and Monica Nibbelin. He married Donna Parker on June 3, 1983 at the VA Protestant Chapel in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by his four sons Mike (Lori) Parker of Peoria, AZ, Ted (Kathy) Parker of Saipan, Charles (Rhonda) Parker of Marshall, and David (Stephanie) Parker of Indiana, grandchildren Josh, Alex, Katie, Keith, Kayla, Brandon, Samantha, Bev, and CJ, three great-grandchildren, Sister-in-law Barb Patterson, and nieces Tracy and Jenn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry. Don joined the Marines and served this country during the Korean War as an airplane mechanic. Pilots would often request his services because they knew they could trust his work. He later served once more by working as a nurse at the VA hospital for over 20 years in the extended care and psychiatry units. Don was a man with a unique sense of humor who was always ready to tell a joke. He loved bowling, crossword puzzles, old westerns, his annual family house boat trips, his grandchildren, and could always be found putzing around. A celebration of Dons life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2007 at the VA Protestant Chapel at 2 p.m. with visitation held an hour prior. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery.
