Donabelle Mcbee

Danville - Donabelle McBee, 93, of Virden, IL, formerly of Danville, passed away at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her home. She was born on May 30, 1920 in Danville, the daughter of E. Franklin and O. Evalo Darnall Griffith of Sidell, IL. She married Chester Evans who was the father of her three children, Lorne Allison, and Donald McBee, all who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Franklin Evans of Alamagordo, NM; two daughters, Donna (Punky) Ice of Georgetown, IL and Barbara (Bob) Grissom of Virden, IL; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a step great grandchild, 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Hamm and Betty Evans of Danville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Wilbur and Steven “Fuzzy” Griffith, 4 sisters, Anna Jean Griffith, Helen “Susie” Rupert, Margie Rucker, and Faye Hillary. Donabelle was a homemaker and she loved to travel and play cards and games. A visitation for Donabelle McBee will be held from 1-3 PM on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville at 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL. Burial and graveside service will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
