Don F. Martin, Sr.

Cayuga, Ind. - Don F. Martin, Sr., 93, of Cayuga, passed away at 8:30 a.m. EDT Sunday, March 22, 2020 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born July 31, 1926 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of the late Claude E. and Romilda A. (Long) Martin.

Survivors include his four children, Pamela Jean (Rick) Cox of Hoodsport, Washington; Kathy (Don) Hawn of Cayuga, Indiana; Donald F. (Lynn) Martin, Jr. of Florida and Regine Martin of Tilton, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Donna) Martin of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ralph (Nancy) Martin of Oxford, Ohio.

Don was preceded in death by two grandsons, Isaiah McCutcheon and Jon Watson; two sisters and two brothers.

Don worked as a service technician on office equipment for many years. He was a veteran of World War II serving on the Luzon Philippines Islands. Don was a 1944 graduate of Hamilton High School. He enjoyed reading the Commercial News and Clintonian, raising tomatoes and watching the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs.

Private graveside services were held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
