Don Dines

Don Gene Dines, 68, of Valdosta, Georgia, formerly of Danville, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia. Don was born on June 18, 1939 in Danville, the son of Ralph Alvin and Ercel Mildred (Watson) Dines. He married Donna Dines in 1975. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna Dines of Valdosta, Georgia; two sons- Chuck Dines of Valdosta, Georgia and Donnie Dines of Danville; three brothers- Ralph Dines, Max (Sue) Dines and Ronald Dines all of Danville; six sisters- Barbara (Henry) Clapp of Danville, Ruth Patton of Bismarck, Beverly Mills of Bismarck, Carolyn Pichon of Bismarck, Linda (Jack) Smith of Danville and Sandy (Larry) Steinbaugh of Alvin; two grandchildren- Joshua and Zachery Dines of Valdosta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers- William Dines, Larry Dines and Gerald Wendall Dines. Donald was a mechanic all of his life. He was one of the best. Don had two shops in Danville before moving to Valdosta in 1975. He loved working on motors. A Celebration of the Life of Don Gene Dines will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating.
