Dolores Therese Walag

Danville - Dolores Therese Walag, 86, passed away on Friday March 18, 2016 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born August 28, 1929 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Walter & Angeline (Majka/Sieron) Gawlik. Dolores married Eugene Joseph Walag Sr. on December 6, 1952 in Chicago. Dolores is survived by her husband; children Lisa (Troy) Mitchell, Carol (Tom) Raup, Kathy (Mel) Hoaks, Rich (Michelle) Walag, Ken Walag, & Gene Jr. (Judy) Walag; grandchildren Jennifer Hillard, Amy Krage, Brandon Hoaks, Ryan Raup, Matt Raup, Angela Walag, J.R. Walag, Tasha Recio, Kendra Walag, Shelly Walag, Kylee Walag, Kim Walag, Richie Walag, Misty Rickgauer, Jimi Roberts, Lindsey Roberts, Jesse Roberts, Jeremy Roberts, Chance Mitchell, Myles Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, & Megan Mitchell; several great-grandchildren; sisters Lottie Pano & Lorraine Pontarelli; sister-in-law Elizabeth Gawlik. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Marie Szatkowski; brothers Joseph Sieron, Walter Sieron, Chester Gawlik, & Eugene Gawlik; brothers-in-law Stanley Szatkowski, Emilio Pontarelli, & Thomas Pano; sisters-in-law Sophie Sieron & Irene Sieron. Dolores loved bird watching, doing puzzles, playing bingo, dancing, & picking tomatoes. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Dolores loved gardening and took great pride in her rose bushes. Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Park & Cremation Center on Monday March 21, 2016 from 4-7pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 22 at 2pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Dolores's name to St. Paul's Catholic Church.
