Dolores Roberts

Dolores M. Roberts, 75, of Danville passed away on June 27, 2009 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Dolores was born July 23, 1933 in Cates, Indiana daughter of Glenn and Pauline (Thompson) Christie. She married Ronald Roberts on May 22, 1954 in Danville. He survives along with three children: Christie (Ron) Roth of Granite City, IL, Jay (Kathy) Roberts of Danville, IL, and James (Paula) Roberts of Ramona, CA; sister: Darlene (Kenny) Miller of Cayuga, IN; brother: Jack Christie of Cayuga, IN; grandchildren: Jason Roberts of Danville, IL, Shannon Roth of Belleville, IL, Tara Roberts of Danville, IL, Darryl Neff of Ramona, CA, Sabrina Roberts of Ramona, CA, and Katelyn Roberts of Danville, IL; and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Moody and brother Harris Christie. Dolores was a graduate of Tangier High School and had worked for Danville Township as a deputy tax assessor for 20+ years. She enjoyed watching westerns and game shows, reading romance novels, collecting elephants, wearing Chanel No. 5 perfume, but, most of all spending time with her family at home. A Celebration of Doloress Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Phil Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
