Dolores Carolyn Hartman

Dolores Carolyn Hartman (Stevenson), 95, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at her residence and went to be with the Lord.

She was born on October 28, 1930, in Cayuga, Indiana, the daughter of Ellisworth Stevenson and Francis George (Kilgore).

On January 16, 1946, Dolores married the love of her life, Donald Lee Hartman. They shared many cherished years together until his passing in 2019.

Dolores is survived by her beloved daughter, Diana (Ron) Mack of Cayuga; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Daniel) Lunsford, Emily (Lane) Miller, and Jeremy Mack; and three treasured great-grandchildren, Lainey, Darby, and Wesley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Hartman; her sons, Darrin Hartman and Donn Hartman; and her brothers, Dorwin Stevenson and Don Stevenson.

Dolores graduated from Clinton High School. She was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was especially known for her delicious homemade pies. She loved reading, traveling—particularly to Branson, Missouri—and spending time in the country. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dolores also had a passion for sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She lovingly made show clothing for her daughter when she exhibited horses, creating treasured memories through her talents and dedication.

A visitation will be held on Friday July 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EST at Sunset Funeral Home – DeVerter Chapel, 215 North Division Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. EST at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Steve Vitaniemi. Burial will follow at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana.
