Dolores A. Owens, 74, of Florida, formerly of Danville, passed away on January 7, 2012, at the Village Regional Hospital in Summerfield, FL. She was born on March 14, 1937 in Danville, the daughter of Ralph and Pauline (Flaherty) Bradford. Both are deceased. On September 28, 1962, she married Richard Owens until his passing. She is survived by her two daughters, Keri and Cindi Owens, both of Florida, one grandson, Bradford, her brother, Dean (Rosemarie) Bradford, one brother-in-law, Bob (Sara) Owens, and several nieces and nephews. Dolores worked many years at the former Danville VA Medical center until retirement. She enjoyed going to the beach, Jazz and Tap dancing, and spending time with her loving family and many friends. She will be missed by all that knew her. Per her wishes, she was cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00am until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. The Owens family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the American Breast Cancer Society.
