Dolly Jeanine. Sollers, 66, of Danville, passed away on September 17, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. She was born on September 30, 1947 in Danville, the daughter of William C. and Virginia Rose (Cannon) Walker. She married Leon Sollers on October 23, 1965 in Tilton, IL, he survives. Jeanine will be deeply missed by her husband, son, William J. (Norma) Sollers of Danville, daughter, Jacqueline (Jeff) Fry of Sugar Grove, IL, brother, Harry S. (Cathy) Walker of Vermilion Grove, IL, grandchildren; Isaiah Sollers, Rogelio Espinoza, Laure Espinoza and Alexandra Rose Fry, great grandchildren; Lily, Emmitt, Landry, Daisy, Destiny, and Antonio Espinoza. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jeanine received her associates degree in 1986 at Danville Area Community College, her Bachelors degree at Eastern Illinois University in 1991 and her Masters in Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1998 where she was recognized as Magna Cum Laude. She worked at Illinois Bell as a telephone operator early in life and then as the secretary for the Macon County School System before becoming a teacher in the Danville School District #118 for 17 years. She touched many lives. Jeanine loved knitting and had a close group of friends who got together weekly to knit together. She was part of the retired teachers group that met once a month and part of the Trinity Lutheran quilting guild. Jeanine and Leon spent their winters in Fort Walton Beach, FL since their retirement. In her spare time she loved knitting, quilting, reading, gardening, volunteering at the Vermilion County Museum and spending time with her loving family. A celebration of Jeanines life will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Jim Blue officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials can be made in Jeanines name to the American Heart Association or the Danville Public Library.
