Dollie D. Jones

Dollie D. Jones, 80, of Danville, passed away at 11:44am Friday March 24, 2006 at Provena United Samaritan Medical Center. She was born February 23, 1926 in Decatur, Illinois, the youngest daughter of the late Fred and Dollie A. (Ellis) Meek. Dollie married Larry A. Jones on November 27, 1971 in Danville. Surviving are her husband, Larry, one son Floyd O. Sanders of Manhattan, New York, two daughters, Pamela (David) Simmons of Indianapolis, Indiana and Patricia (J.R.) McGehee of Oakwood, 12 grandchildren, Travis Simmons, Eric Simmons, Brett McGehee, Bart McGehee, Paul Sanders, Brian Sanders, Darren Sanders, Michelle Pollitt, Brandy McGehee, Junior McGehee, Amber McGehee, and Lance McGehee, and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, and four sisters. Dollie was a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo and country music. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Celebration of life for Dollie D. Jones will be held at 10:00am Monday March 27, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 3-7 pm Sunday March 26, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Dollies name to the American Lung Association of IL, 3000 Kelly Lane, Springfield, IL 62707.
