Dick Duane Leach

Dick Duane Leach, 64, of Covington, passed away at 12:20 AM on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport, IN. He was born on June 22, 1948 in Vigo County, IN, the son of Orlando J. and Mabel Ruth (Bennett) Leach. He was married to Sharon Suttles-Rainey in Covington. Sharon preceded him in death. Surviving him are three sons- Monty Leach of Williamsport, Christopher Leach of Covington, Ryan Leach of Covington, two daughters- Marie (Carl) Williams of Covington and Casey Leach of Covington, one stepson-Eli Rainey, three grandchildren- Alexis Williams, Arity Williams and Alexus Leach. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Dick served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He received training at Camp Polk, LA. Dick also served three tours in Vietnam. Dick earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. Dick worked at Olin-Flexel from 1973 until retiring in 1997. He also enjoyed wood carving and outdoor activities. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 am EST on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN, with military honors. A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 am EST prior to the service at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Memorials can be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society.
