Diana K. Ward of Fithian born Oct. 26, 1947 went to be with her special son Darren in heaven at 12:00 noon on March 31, 2009, leaving behind her husband of 44 years Dale and their other son Douglas Ward of whom she was so proud of and two grand children Kelsey and Jacob Ward of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her mother Dorothy Moore and a close cousin Robert Davis also of Fithian. She is also survived by a close cousin Lonie (Tim) Collins and their daughter Robin of Harrison Burg Ohio and several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. In 1964 Diana and her future husband Dale Ward started building their dream home in Fithian where they lived their entire life together. On July 31, 1965 they were married, three years later their oldest son Darren was born and 18 months after that their other son Douglas was born. She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Moore and two brothers Danny Moore and Larry Moore and his wife Claudette of Fithian, her Mother n Law and Father n Law Charles and Maxine Ward of rural Armstrong and a brother n law Jim Ward. At the young age of 13 Diana became well known in the community as an expert female trap shooter, having won many awards. After leaving high school Diana went on to become a licensed Beautician and opened a shop in Fithian. Other than her many friends and family Diana loved her two Maltese dogs Shelby and Scooter who were always by her side. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday April 3rd at the Oakwood Sunset Funeral Home at 105 E. South Main St., Oakwood, IL with Rev. Dennis Anglin officiating. Burial will be at The Stearns Cemetery between Fithian and Muncie. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday April 2nd at the Funeral Home. Memorial can be made to The Mills Cancer Center in Urbana.
