Diana Long

DANVILLE; Diana Joyce Long, 59, of Danville, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2004 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born March 17, 1945 in Danville, the daughter of Everett and Edith Copner Cramer. Survivors include 2 sisters: Evelyn (Robert) DuPriest of Swansea, and Norma (Stephen) Beresford of Georgetown; 1 brother, Lloyd "Bud" (Charlene) Short of Pagosa Springs, CO; 2 nieces, Brianna and Stephanie Beresford, both of Georgetown; 2 nephews, Edward (Peggy) Miller of Arden, N.C. and Dr. Eric (Stephanie) Miller of Orland Park; and her special dog, Preston. Her parents preceded her in death. Diana was a LPN in New Jersey, Texas, and Illinois. Her final service was spent at nursing homes and as a home health care provider in the Danville Area. Upon retirement, she became a Wal Mart Associate in Danville, in the fabrics and crafts department. She was very active in democratic politics, serving as an election judge for many years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, sewing, bingo, making teddy bears for charity, and most of all, arts and crafts. All of her life, Diana enjoyed helping people. Her final gift was the donation of her organs.
