Diana "Dee" Parkin

Diana “Dee” S. Parkin, 74, of Urbana, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 16, 1951, in Charleston, IL, the daughter of Jerry E. and Lillie Mae (Hall) Taylor. Dee married Jeffery J. Parkin on August 12, 1985; he survives.

Dee is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Hutchinson, Dillon Kielhorn, and her great-granddaughter, Ellie Mae.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Shuman, brothers, Michael Taylor and Mike Taylor, and sister, Debbie Welsh.

Dee was known for her kind heart and genuine love for animals. Throughout her life, she found joy in gardening, exploring garage sales, and rummaging through thrift stores, always on the lookout for hidden treasures.

Dee’s family would like to thank the staff at Carle Hospital, Christie Clinic, and Transitions Hospice for all their care over the past year.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Champaign Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. A graveside service to honor Dee’s life will immediately follow the visitation at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.
