Dewey Emmitt Crigger, 73, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Dewey was born on October 28, 1931 in Switchback, West Virginia, the son of Milford and Grace (Hamby) Crigger. He married Beverly Heimburger on February 25, 1956 in Covington, Indiana. She survives. He is also survived by his mother Grace Crigger of Princeton, West Virginia; 1 daughter- Beverly Jo (Jeff) Vincent of Athens, Alabama; 2 brothers- Dempsey (Glenda) Crigger of Chicago, Illinois and Butch (Pam) Crigger of Princeton, West Virginia; 2 sisters- Freida (George) Jupin of Ashland, Kentucky and Ramona Crigger of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 2 grandsons- Jeffery Vincent and Travis Vincent both of Athens, Alabama; 1 great-granddaughter- Addison Vincent. He was preceded in death by his father, and 1 sister- Shirley Crigger. Dewey worked as a construction worker and laborer until retiring. He served in the Army during the end of WWII. He liked to collect model cars and listen to country music. Some of his favorite artists were Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, and Earl Scruggs. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge 1001 in Danville.
