Dennis 'Randy' Rutledge

Dennis "Randy" Rutledge, 51, of Fithian passed away at 11:35 am on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at his home. Randy was born in Danville on July 13, 1965, the son of James and Rosemary Rutledge. On October 12, 1991, Randy married the love of his life, Kimberly (Carpenter) in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, James (Taylor) Rutledge, Andrew Rutledge; one daughter, Kathryn (Cody) Rutledge; his parents, James and Rosemary Rutledge; and two brothers, Steve (Shelly) Rutledge of St. Louis, MO, and Doug (Jami) Rutledge of Rantoul, IL. Randy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Rosie Rutledge and Clarence and Zola Fagan. Randy was a very fun-loving and ambitious man, owning and operating Uni-Kill Pest Control since 2004, and spending a total of 30 years in the pest control business. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed spending time in nature, whether it be fishing or hunting. He also enjoyed singing and playing the drums, most recently in the Praise Band of Fithian United Methodist Church. Randy enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears, but the most important things in Randy's life were his family and friends. He will be loved and missed by everyone he met. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Josh Hunsberger will be conducting the service, accompanied by special music by Pastor Zach LeCrone. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery in Fithian. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday November 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Fithian United Methodist Church.
