Dennis Henry Smith

Dennis Henry Smith, 70, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on October 15. 2026. Dennis was born the son of Howard and Betty (Van Horn) Smith in Danville, Illinois on March 27, 1956.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Betty (Van Horn) Smith, and his brother Larry Smith.

Dennis loved people, and participating in Special Olympics. He enjoyed Elvis, cooking, bowling, running races, playing pool and swimming. When he was able, Dennis loved attending Church and participating in ceremonies.

Dennis is survived by his brother David Smith, sister Barbara (George) Dudich, and sister-in-law Marie (Schifo) Smith, niece Amanda (Sam Schifo) Dudich, nephews, Andrew (Racheal) Dudich, Joe (Krystyn) Smith, Matt (Jessica) Smith, and many great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at 10 am on Thursday October 22, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Urbas Chapel 414 South State Street Westville, Illinois, 61883. With Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Burial to follow at Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday October 21, 2026, 4-6pm.
