Dennis “Denny” R. Price, 78, of Oakwood, IL passed away at 10:14 PM on September 22, 2025 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.
Denny was born on August 10, 1947 in Trenton, MI the son of Richard and Lelia Marie (Anderson) Price. He married Dorothy “Dottie” P. Pennington on December 27, 1981 in Elkins, WV and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Price of Oakwood, IL, children, Heather (James) Yerem of Catlin, IL and Andrew (Lacey) Price of Catlin, IL, grandchildren, Ryan McCord, Megan McCord, Allison (Jacob) Bergman, Kennedy Price, Owen Price and Beckett Price, great grandchild, Sutton Bergman and two siblings, Dianne (Rick) Kurth of Danville, IL and Gary Price of Ft Wayne, IN.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents.
Denny served in the Unites States Army during the Vietnam War from June 21, 1968 until June 18, 1971. He served as a Physicians Assistant for over 30 years, many of those years in the Rossville area, until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees, a member of American Legion Post 210 and the VFW. Denny enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, yearly sailing trips with five of his classmates in his younger years, and summer trips to the family lake house in Houghton Lake, Michigan.
A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Chris Quick will officiate. Committal rites will be at the Danville National Cemetery Committal Shelter at Noon on Monday, September 29, 2025. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the funeral home.
