Dennis Crane, 69, of Danville, IL, went to be with the Lord on November 14th in Fort Myers FL. He was born on July 2, 1946, in Urbana IL, to Maurice and Hannah (Flesner) Crane. He was married to Susan (Smith) Crane on May 26, 1979, at Ridgeview Baptist Church, Danville, IL He is survived by his wife, daughter, Lindsay (Paul) Froman, grandchildren: Landon and Blakely Froman of Danville, IL, son Stephen Crane of Rantoul IL, granddaughters: Jordan and Kaitlyn Crane of Franklin Park, IL, son Gary Crane of Rantoul, IL, brothers: Gary (Marsa) Crane of Rantoul, IL, Dwight (Marianne) Crane of Rantoul, IL, Dale (Rebecca) Crane of Urbana, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister (Sandra Tymoszenko), and son (Scott Crane). Dennis loved playing games and reading to his grandchildren. They often made emergency stops for donuts or other special treats. He read his Bible daily, collected and read numerous books, and enjoyed attending Sunday school and Church at Second Church of Christ in Danville and McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers Florida. He had joy that was contagious to everyone around him. His relationship with the Lord, family and friends were his most precious possessions. Dennis had a passion for saving the unborn. His faith and life have left memories and a legacy that will not be forgotten. He will be so greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 21, Second Church of Christ, Danville, Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 20, 6-8, Sunset Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Dennis' name to Women's Care Clinic or Second Church of Christ, Danville.
