Dennis Alton

Dennis L. Alton, age 62, of Catlin, passed away on September 11, 2009. He was born September 25, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Harley and Loraine (Reitz) Alton. He married Sandra Melton on June 30, 1979. She survives. Other survivors include three children: Natasha Alton of Catlin, Brandon (Jessica) Alton of Catlin, Keishia (Adam) Alton of Danville, one sister: Donna (Jerry) Rauter of Chicago; one brother: Loren (Loreen) Alton of Chicago; five grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Michael Alton. Dennis served his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He worked for E & L Transport (Cassens) for twenty-seven years. His favorite past times where watching the Bears play football and spending time with his grandchildren: Skyler, Adison, Kaden, Ethan, Max, and special niece: Gracie. He will be greatly missed by his family. He was one of a kind. A celebration of life graveside service will be held for Dennis Alton at 11 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville.
