Denise Murdock

Denise Murdock, 56, of Westville, passed away at 6:13pm, Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born on January 10, 1967, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Dennis and Janet {Bowers} Farrell. She was united in marriage to Michael Murdock in March of 1998. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her children, Doug (Tori) Ward of Charleston, Rachelle (Dante) Baxter of Westville, Destiney Murdock of Georgetown, Michael (Tiffany) Murdock of Mattoon, and Jacob Murdock of Westville; her grandchildren, Reece, Jayden, Anessa, Melanie, Zachariah, Easton, and Kyler; her sisters, Bridgette (Tim) Rivers, Cathy Tuddy, Missy (Will) Thornsbrough, Dawn (Doug) Gabehart; her brother-in-law, Randy (Elizabeth) Murdock; her several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as, her lifelong friends, Teresa Kruger and Lori Piatt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Janet & Dennis Farrell; her in-laws; her nephew, Randy Murdock; and her brother-in-law, Jason Murdock. Denise graduated from Westville High School in 1985. She worked for Custom Care for 14 years and Starcrest for 2 years. She also operated her own daycare for 12 years and she loved all her daycare kids immensely. She loved going to bingo every Sunday and watching her grandson, Jayden, play baseball. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. A celebration of Denises life will be held at 7:00pm, Friday, June 23, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday prior to her service at the funeral home. As per her wishes, she will be cremated and will be laid to rest at a later date.
