Deloris E. Ellmore, 81, of Covington IN, passed away at 9:08 pm on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Hawthorne Inn, Danville IL. The daughter of Clyde and Dora (VanHook) Stoup, she was born on March 22, 1932 in Stringtown IN. She married Robert “Bob” Ellmore on March 9, 1951 in Danville IL, he preceded her in death on October 31, 2000. She is survived by her daughter Bobbye (Clay) Gerling of Covington IN and daughter-in-law Barbara (Jack) Macy also of Covington. Also surviving are grandchildren Ryan (Megan) Ellmore, Matt (Erin) Gerling, Ashlee (Brian) Kingston, Adam (Allison) Gerling and Hillary Macy and great-grandchildren Caleb, Neil, and Seth Ellmore, Kamryn, Dane, Nicole and Sebastion Gerling, Jacob, Brycen and Sean Kingston, one brother Ted “Jack” (Jean) Stoup of Lafayette and a sister Betty Ricks of Russiaville and many loving nieces and nephews. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, her son Gary, two sisters Marguerite Mycroft and Eileen Stoup and three brothers Gene, Herman and Russell Stoup. A graduate of Perrysville High School, Deloris also attended Rabb Grade School. For 30 years she and her husband owned and operated restaurants in Covington including the Tastee Freez, Bobs Drive Inn, and Lindees. She also worked for General Electric, Bilsland Implement and Gilliland Implement, the Fountain County Court House in the Assessors Office for 15 years. A woman of faith, Deloris was a long time member of the Orchard Hills Church of Christ. She enjoyed working in her garden and keeping her yard tidy. She loved her family and took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Deloris life will be held at 1:00 pm EST on Saturday September 28, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home in Covington IN with Jim Russell and Scott Smith officiating and burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington IN. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday September 28, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Covington. Memorials may be made in Deloris name to the Orchard Hills Church of Christ. Condolences may be left at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
