Delores I. Witherell

Delores I. Witherell, 92, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Urbana, IL. She was born in Schuyler County, IL, on July 10, 1933, the daughter of Mabel I. Derry. She married Robert K. Witherell, who so lovingly passed away just one day after Delores.

She is survived by her children, David (Linnea) Malott, Mary Kay (Calvin) Florey, and Robert (Sophia) Witherell Jr.; grandchildren, Calvin Florey, Rachel Simmons, and Jessica Rosado; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel, and twin sister, Lois McCombs.

Delores worked as a Church Secretary at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she served faithfully for many years. In her free time, she could often be found doing one of her favorite hobbies, gardening or sewing.

A graveside service to honor Delores and Robert will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, located at 4601 W War Memorial Drive, Peoria, Illinois 61615. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Mahomet Chapel, 1102 Churchill Rd. Mahomet, IL 61853, is honored to assist the family with funeral arrangements.
