DELORES WATSON I ask only one thing, Lord: Let me live in your house every day of my life and after death to be with you to see how wonderful you are and to pray in your temple. Delores Watson, 83, of Danville, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Delores was born on June 15th, 1927 in Allerton, Illinois, the daughter of Cleo Allen and Georgia Florence (Alexander) Sempsrott. She married Harold Bruce Watson on December 24th, 1946 in Danville. He preceded her in death on December 7th, 1988. She is survived by two sons- Steve D. (Vickie) Watson of Danville and Kenny (Donna) Watson of Delphi, Indiana; two daughters- Carolyn Jackie (Jim) Yowell and Susan (Philip) Free Jr. both of Danville; two brothers- Ralph Sempsrott of Indianapolis, Indiana and Larry Sempsrott of Danville; eleven grandchildren- Mike Yowell, Amy (Tash) Trees, Beth Miller, Jackie Revello, Judy Watson, Kimie Jo Watson, David Watson, Michelle (Derek) Beaver, Amy Free, Justin Free and Kari Jo Free; seven great-grandchildren- Grady, Griffin, Riley, Savanna, Kimberlin, Alex and Addison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers- Warren and Charles Sempsrott. She graduated from Danville High School in 1945. After high school she attended nursing school at the Mercy School of Nursing in Champaign. She started working at Lakeview Hospital and later St. Elizabeths Hospital as an RN. She later went back to work at Provena as a nurse in the OB department, until she retired in 1992. She also worked as a Lamaze instructor during her time at the hospital. She was a member of the Danville Alliance Church and the YWCA. She enjoyed reading her bible, bowling, knitting, crocheting, fishing in Kentucky and spending time with her family. A Celebration of the life of Delores Watson will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 6th, 2011 at Danville Alliance Church, with Pastor Kurt Sovine officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home.
