Delores Josephine Curry

Delores Josephine Curry, 81 of Westville, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her home. She was born January 6, 1935 in Fairmount to Charles J. and Nora {Feeler} Pruitt. Delores married Robert Curry on June 30, 1979 in Danville. He survives. Also surviving are: her daughter, Marion (Rick) O'Neal of Covington; grandchild, Lorie Hughes of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Thor and Brook Hughes and Lauren O'Neal; great-great-granddaughter, Marley Davis; step-son, Tim (Patti) Curry, of Oklahoma; 3 step-granddaughters; 2 step-grandsons; 1 step-great-granddaughter; 3 step-great-grandsons; two brothers, Dean Pruitt of Muncie and Charles Pruitt, Jr. of Arcola; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Loren Brannon; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers. Delores was a graduate of Oakwood High School and a caretaker to many influential people in the area and their families. She also worked for Danville School District. Delores loved her flowers and spent many hours gardening. She could make anything grow. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing Yahtzee! Delores was on a bowling league and enjoyed going out of town with her friends to bowling tournaments. One of her favorite things to do was ride through Kickapoo nightly and count the dear and she did so up until she couldn't anymore. Delores was also a member of the Westville First Church of Christ. A Celebration of Delores' life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State Street, Westville. Bob Cornell will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Newtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-12 PM Saturday, October 29, 2016 prior to services at the funeral home.
