Delores Holtz, 88, of Danville, passed away at 3:24am on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at her residence. She was born on June 8, 1920, in Covington, IN, the daughter of Earl and Elsie (Holycross) Murray. On February of 1942, Delores married Mr. Wendell Erskine in S. Carolina and he preceded her in death in 1945. She later married Mr. Gene Holtz in Danville on July 28, 1953. He preceded her in death in 1990. Delores survives and will be missed by her daughter, Karen Selvin of Danville, her granddaughter, Tracy (Matthew) Williams of Stillwater, Minn, her three great-grandchildren, MaryFrancis, Madeleine, and Annika Williams, and her brother, Robert E. Murray of Port. Vincent, LA. Her parents, her sister, Betty Jordan, and her niece, Margo Carr, also preceded Delores in death. Delores enjoyed being with her family, friends, and her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, knitting, as well as being an avid reader. A private family Celebration of Life service for Delores Holtz will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with a private burial to follow. A public visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the funeral home. The family has asked that all memorial contributions be made in Deloress name to Carle Hospice, and/or the American Cancer Society.
