Delores 'Bubbles' Hanna

Chrisman- Delores "Bubbles" Hanna, 81, of Chrisman and formerly Georgetown and Minnesota, passed away at 10:43 AM on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. She was born on February 18, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Archibald Clark and Gertrude Kathryn Reuther Watson. She married Leo Edwin Hanna on September 17, 1949 in Danville. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2004. Surviving are four daughters, Diana (Ed) Bizet of NC, Paula (Kenny) Tuggle of Chrisman, Marianne (Jeff) Worcester of Big Fork, MN, and Jody (Dan) Duncheon of Oakwood; brother Bob Watson; sisters Kate (Louis) Mann and Shirley Mae (Carroll) Cook; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and her special extended family from Pleasant Meadows. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Lou Watson and Mary Ellen Mann, and brothers Bill and George Watson. Bubbles worked at the Fisher Theater prior to her marriage and then as the head cook at Lincoln School. She was active in the PTA and had been a member of the Kitchen Band. She lived in Georgetown from 1977-86 and then moved to Minnesota. While in Minnesota, she was a member of the Senior Citizen Club and sang with the Lawrence Lake Warblers. She also enjoyed making lap afghans which she donated to the nursing home. After Bubbles and Leo returned to Illinois in 2001, she continued to enjoy writing poetry and most recently reading the bible on her iPad, as well as the activities at Pleasant Meadows. Bubbles' family would like to extend a special thanks to the fourth floor nursing staff and Pleasant Meadows. A service to celebrate the Life of Delores "Bubbles" Hanna will be held at 6 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Karl Marshall will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM prior to the services on Saturday, also at Sunset in Danville. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to the Activities Fund at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.
